Between 2000 and 2013, the population of Horizonte grew 79%. The economic potential was boosted with the arrival of industries, also resulting in investments in the education sector and in the training of residents. Today Horizonte occupies the fifth position of the state ranking of state revenues and offers high-level workers.
The council carries out partnerships and has the presence of units of the Social Service for Industry (SESI), the National Industrial Apprenticeship Service (SENAI), the State University of Vale do Acaraú (UVA), the Vocational Technology Center (CVT) and the National System Jobs / Job Development Institute (Sine / RTD), in addition to having a free short course of preparation for college entrance exams and higher level education.
The Faculty of Technology Horizonte and the Metropolitan School of Horizonte are in the implementation phase. Soon the city will also include the Federal Institute and Technical School. Currently 13,167 students are enrolled in public schools in 14 centers of early childhood education and 27 public schools.
